Road Trip!

With 6 days off from school plus 4 weekend days, we decided to go on a ROAD TRIP!  We drove from Ames, IA to St. Louis, MO to visit my mother, sister, and her family.  After a few days, we headed to Tulsa, OK and then Amarillo, TX to visit my husband's parents, sister, and her family.  I forgot to bring our travel Bingo cards so, with crayons and sketch paper, I did my best to make some.  When we arrived at my mother's, I made some on the computer.  This helped quite a lot even though I wasn't exactly sure what to expect to see on our road trip (I should have added "tumbleweed" in hindsight).  To save you some brainstorming, here are some ideas:

* Restaurant
* Specific restaurant (McDonald's, Burger King, etc.)
* Hotel
* Specific hotel (Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, Best Western, Motel 6, Super 8, etc.)
* Emergency vehicle
* Specific emergency vehicle (police car, fire truck, ambulance, etc.)
* Type of vehicle (car, truck, semi, motorcycle, etc.)
* Color of vehicle (blue car, red truck, etc.)
* Make of vehicle (Kia, Ford, Chevrolet, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes, etc.)
* Construction equipment (orange cone, bull dozer, dump truck, etc.)
* Church
* Lighthouse
* Windmill
* Rest Area
* Toll booth/toll plaza
* Hospital
* Train, train tracks
* Body of water (ocean, river, pond, lake, etc.)
* Cemetery
* License plate from specific state (look below for state list)
* Sign ("Yield", "Stop", "No U Turn", "Speed Limit", "Railroad Crossing", etc.)
* Sign shapes (octagon sign, triangle sign, rectangle sign, etc.)
* Animals (horse, cow, dog, deer, etc.)
* Trailer
* Camper
* Water tower
* Satellite

To keep my husband occupied, we made a list of the 50 states and counted how many we saw.  Don't forget Canadian provinces!  If you didn't learn the state song like I did in elementary, here is a list:

Alabama
Alaska
Arizona
Arkansas
California
Colorado
Connecticut

Hopefully these ideas will help you ward off the "Are we there yet?" and "How much further?" questions!
